Blockchain gamers: Increase over the past 30 days even in a bear market = DappRadar
User activity in decentralised applications (DApps) for blockchain games spiked in September, with many games seeing a significant increase in the number of active users.
DappRadar data.According to the "Number of unique wallet addresses interacting with dapp smart contracts" has increased in seven of the top ten games over the past 30 days, with increases in all five of the top games over that period.
At the time of writing, DApps that have grown during this period include the web3 gaming platform Gameta, blockchain-based games Alien Worlds, Solitaire Blitz, Benji Bananas, Splinterlands, Farmers World' and 'Arc8'.
DappRadar is a27 September Blog post.and noted that eight of the top ten current blockchain games are mobile-first and could eventually "bring millions of users to the blockchain".
'Dapp games like Gameta, Benji Bananas, Upland and Trickshot Blitz allow anyone with a mobile device to earn virtual currency with little or no prior knowledge, investment or risk'
It further notes that 'using everyday activities, such as hyper-casual mobile games, as hooks can make users feel fun once they interact, and talkonomics can drive daily use and retention'.
DappRadar states that one of the reasons for the rising popularity of blockchain games despite the bear market is the idea of 'bleeding on the bear and running on the bull'.
'The idea that stacking up virtual currency and investments in a bear market will pay off in a bull one is largely proven at this point.'
The game with the highest user growth was Benji Bananas (Polygon) under the Animoka brand, which has increased by 2016.541 TP2T over the past 30 days. It is worth noting that the game was a Web2 mobile app until March this year. Animoka then introduced a play-to-earn (P2E) element via Ape Coins (APE) in partnership with Bored Ape Yacht Club.
It is unclear how exactly the number of Benji Bananas users has increased, but the P2E gaming event was held this month.holding a meetingThe winner was offered a series of valuable NFTs in the game.
Of the top ten titles, only Axie Infinity, Trickshot Blitz and Upland had declined in the past 30 days.
Bloomberg, on the other hand. The article.in the NFT market, noting that trading in the NFT market has "almost cooled off from its frenzy". As evidence of this, it cites a 97% drop in overall NFT trading volume since January.
Yat Shu, co-founder of Animoka, argued on Twitter on 30 September that a purely NFT sales metric does not necessarily give a complete picture of NFTs and gaming.
Shu emphasises that NFT prices fall in tandem with the price of paired assets such as Ether (ETH), while many less talked about games require relatively cheap NFTs. Instead, he argues that user activity and the number of entrants to Web3 should be the focus.
6/ Judging an entire market simply by one metric is imperfect you need to take a multifaceted lens eg. @TheSandboxGame has seen record growth in users in its last season despite the market and blockchain wallets continue to rise https://t.co/brvDgCAhqh
